My Insights: Buwan ng Wika 2012

“Tatag ng Wikang Filipino,

Lakas ng Pagka-Pilipino”

                We, the Filipinos can now communicate better with each other because of our own language which introduced by the former President Manuel L. Quezon or also known as “Nonong.” Aside from our very brave heroes who fought for our country, he was also one of the people who served as an instrument so that we can able to communicate well and I think he really deserves the title given to him which is “Ama ng Wikang Pambansa.”

                We all know that August is celebrated in the Philippines as “Buwan ng Wika” and the aim in celebrating this event is to highlight the importance of our national language. Another aim also is to emphasize its role as an effective instrument for the economic stability for our nation. There is also a given theme every August and the theme for this year is “Tatag ng Wikang Filipino, Lakas ng Pagka-Pilipino,” which I do really agree because our national language makes us feel that we are true Filipinos and it serves as a weapon for a better understanding and communicating.

                Our national hero, Dr.  Jose Rizal said “Ang hindi marunong magmahal sa sariling wika ay daig pa ang malansang isda.” As a young Filipino, I hope that his words serves as a reminder to all of us that we owe it to our future generations to keep our national language alive by using,enriching ang making it response to the needs of the times, while preserving what makes it distinctly Filipino. 

Modern Hero

“My Mom, My Hero”

A hero is a person who was admired for his achievements and noble equalities. He or she shows great courage and inspires a lot of people to do good things and one of the heroes that I consider is my mother.

          My mother never gives up and never stops to fill us the things that we really need for our better future. She is always there to reach our hand every time we stumble. She is the one who corrects me when I’m doing wrong and of course she’ll guide me in choosing the right decision. She always makes me feel that I’m not alone, that she is always there at my side and will feed me many inspiring advices that I might apply in life. So, I know that saying thank you to her is not enough because she molds me to be a better person but one thing is sure, she will serve as one of the inspirations for the fulfillment of my dreams. My mother means a lot to me. For me, she is better than “wonder woman,” “darna” or any other heroes for she is the greatest hero.

          A hero is someone who has risked or sacrificed his or her own life for other people. Sacrificing one’s life isn’t only demonstrated by literally dying’ it’s whom you put others above you and that’s what my mother do. That makes my mother for me the greatest hero.

PERFORMANCE OF MINE

             

          There were many learnings and discoveries that I have known during the first grading period in our ICT class. I’ve learned a lot during our discussions and during our hands-on. Some of these lessons that I learned are about internet, the history of internet, the people behind internet and of course my favorite lesson, the blog. Our teacher thought us how to create our accounts and how to post. We were educated all of these by our teacher.

          Having problems and encountering challenges are usual and normal to the life of people most especially to the students. So, as a student, I have encountered some problems. One of it is the assignments I happened not to make because sometimes I forgot that we have assignments or sometimes I’m lazy to do it. Another problem that I usually encounter is by being lazy to open my notes and study my lessons which result to low score in quizzes or grade in performance.

          We say that in every problem there is a solution for the God will not give us challenges if he knew that we cannot solve it. So what I did to address the challenges I encountered is by typing our assignments in my cell phone with a vibrating alarm to remind me. I am also trying my best to review my lessons to have a better result in my grades.

          Moving on, I will continue my good attitudes during this grading period and of course I will try to change and improve the bad hobbies I used to do. In this case, I know that there will be better results. I will have a high grades.
